Almost on the Road
It was a crazy week. As if thursday I and nothing packed, washed, or ready for my trip on Friday. I didn’t even have valid tags in my car. All of my washing, packing, charging of electronics and list making were done by midnight/1 am. Friday morning I got an oil change, and got replacement tags for my car.
Only a day of work between me and almost 2000 miles to Vermont.

Arising from our unsuccessful performance in the start up funding contest at MinneBar, we came to the attention of a writer for Tech.MN a technology/entrepreneurship news site. It is our first local story and I’m quite excited to see if leads to more conversations.
Hilarious!! Must Watch
Mike Rowe on TED
TED Talk on Solar Energy Using Genetic Algorithms.

A very interesting talk about harnessing solar energy using a Sterling engine and genetic algorithms.
Another Good TED Talk
Another talk on oil energy. He opens the talk with an analogy to whales and whale oil, remarking that the whales were saved by money grubbing oil capitalist the destroyed the whale oil market before we killed all the whales.
MacBook Pro Unboxing
I didn’t get the house but I did get the new Mac! It is very exciting. There is nothing like opening a new Mac. From cutting the tape to pulling out the machine and finding the documentation, it is a first rate experience.
From day one this has been my “work” machine. Doing fun things like writing new code and working techincal things rather than watching TV online or surfing the web for pointless (but fun) topics.
I’ll keep you updated on the projects as we get to a finished product.
Another Awesome TED talk
Condo: Dust in the Wind
Well, it look like I’ve lost the condo battle. I got an email from my agent after I said to counter at $130k. Now as you can read in the email below she said I lost this by some one bidding $145k, which was a hundred dollars more than the list price. I have no idea who would do something like that, but that what public records are for. Whatever, that’s life.
I’m not to happy with this, but not because I lost the bid. It is because I still hear crap like this from my agent. If there is a good development out of this is that I don’t have to worry about his anymore. I’m going to keep my eyes open, but obviously I’m moving on from the current agent.
Well, I’m sorry to say, I logged in and somebody else put in a post auction bid at 145k and it is sold. Please trust me when I tell you what something is worth, or if it is a fantastic deal. It is going to be difficult to match another like it. It wasn’t that anybody didn’t want to bid on it. They just didn’t get to it in time during the auction. As I said before, EVERYTHING is going into multiple offers and anything reasonably priced sells very fast. The “bad” market that all the media talks about are the higher priced units, but comps can never lie.
Oh and I’m going to buy a new Mac Book Pro, too. So everything isn’t bad.
