Google Desktop beats Microsoft to the punch.

Is this the sign of the future or history comming full circle.

Software giant Microsoft was beaten to the desktop searching market by Google last week with the release of Google Desktop desktop.google.com. Microsoft is planning to release an enhanced web style desktop search with its new MSN web search. Check out this story from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer Google tops Microsoft with new PC search tool.

If you hate searching for documents on your PC, but use Google constantly for the web, you need to try Google Desktop.

Spread Firefox – Igniting the web

As a proud advocate of the Open Source movement. I glad to be supporting the launch of Firefox this November. Another Firefox advocate has started a movement to place a full page ad in the New York Times. For a mere $30 you can have your name printed in the ad supporting the Firefox browser and the Open Source movement.

Good Game

Nice job Twins. The Twins defense helped out our #1 pitcher to get another division series game 1 win against the Yanks. Unlike last year, the Yankees have more to worry about in games 2 thru 5 than the Twins. Even if we split in New York we will for sure get a chance to see Johan “Cy” Santana pitch in the Dome where I’m sure his change-up will be very effective.

Good job Twins, good luck tonight.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks to everyone for making the first presidential debate party a resounding success. The pictures from the evening will make an appearance on danflies.com tonight or tomorrow stay tuned.

As for the debate itself, it was a great started for this debate season. Check out coverage at the Washington Post.

Here is one article that looks interesting. The committee is still out on how Open Source and new government regulations will effect each other.l
